Digital Transformation Done Right: DTAP Kicks Off

Dynamic changes are taking place in the world fuelled by technology and digital adoption, which is transforming the business world dramatically. The lifespan of companies is becoming shorter: it is predicted that 75% of S&P500 Index will be replaced by 2027 due to digital disruption.

Malaysia's industries are still far from being digitally ready and are facing challenges, which include the lack of a structured approach, budget limitations, a shortage of digital professionals, as well as the perception that digital transformation is too fast-paced and complex.

The Digital Transformation Acceleration Programme (DTAP) has been established to future-proof Malaysian companies and to ensure their competitiveness in an era of increasing global digital disruption.

The programme provides a structured approach for participating companies embarking on their digital transformation journey, and includes support from Digital Transformation Labs.

DTAP is complemented by a matching grant, which is the result of a partnership between MDEC and MIDA. The DTAP Pilot grant has been created to assist companies to tap on the expertise of the Digital Transformation Labs and to address pain points as well as adopt digital technologies to exploit opportunities in the digital arena.

"Helping Malaysian verticals close the transformation gap: DTAP"

"Having been in the industry for more than 30 years, I can see how digital has gained the momentum to truly disrupt the business - and other aspects - of our world," said Datuk Yasmin, MDEC's CEO.

"Today’s Digital Transformation Acceleration Programme (DTAP), launched by MDEC with MIDA, is to help start a catalytic wave to future-proof our companies - and to enhance their competitiveness in an era of increasing global digital disruption," she said.

"I presented a keynote emphasising the tremendous speed and scale up possibilities through digital transformation as well the advantages presented by DTAP’s pilot programme," said Datuk Yasmin. "This includes Digital Transformation Lab experts to help address pain points and plot the start of the transformation journey as well as a package of incentives, which include a 1:1 DTAP Pilot Grant and various attractive tax incentives."
