BIDAxCHANGE program prepares young entrepreneurs for the global platform
   
Key industry players give pointers a bumiputera business needs to go worldwide  

MDEC’s BIDAxCHANGE forum is aimed at enabling young bumiputera entrepreneurs to be at the forefront of their businesses and the industry.  

Norhizam Abdul Kadir, MDEC’s Vice President of Growth Ecosystem Development talked about how companies would be able to leverage opportunities to globalize and to be more export-oriented. He also mentioned the importance of improving one’s capabilities and talent as well.  

CEO of MyNef, Lilyana Latif shares her pride towards the work of young bumiputera entrepreneurs in the ICT industry. She finds the new iteration in BIDA to be promising. Datuk Yasmin Mahmood, MDEC’s CEO says she is optimistic about the ability to spawn a new generation of bumiputera "technopreneurs" 

"We want to help a new breed of technopreneurs who are able and want to go global. They would want to have the exposure and network that will allow them to go global." 

"When you go overseas, you take a different approach and you complain that your business isn’t doing well. How I see it is that when we are overseas, we do not have the same approach as we would in Malaysia. Therefore, we actually have to work harder."  

Shahid Saaya, CEO of Berkshire Media shared his thoughts on innovation-hunting.  

"When we go out there, we always need to find those innovative areas. The product’s position is also very important." He also goes on to add that it is a highly competitive world, where people are talking about prices and what makes one special.  

Elain Lockman, Partner and Director of Ataplus stressed on the importance of being educated when a business goes global. The quality of the production, operations, documentation, how an entrepreneur speaks to people is crucial to be able to innovate and to compete with competitors.
