MDEC strengthens ZE-TO pledge

On 10 April 2018, MDEC's adherence to its ZE-TO (Zero Tolerance) on corruption was been further strengthened by the entire team at a special 'Ikrar Bebas Rasuah' ceremony.

MDEC CEO Datuk Yasmin Mahmood led the 'Ikrar' - the Pledge - witnessed by the MDEC Chairman Tan Sri Sidek Hassan and the Board of Directors along with Dato' Shamshun Baharin Mohd Jamil from Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

Datuk Yasmin said the 'Ikrar,' a pledge taken by all staff, powerfully reaffirms MDEC's zero tolerance to corruption as well as a strict commitment to proper governance, integrity and professionalism in all of its dealings.

MDEC signed the Ikrar Bebas Rasuah (Corruption-Free Pledge) with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) as a step in strengthening the organisation’s commitment towards uncompromising integrity.

As a champion of Malaysia's digital economy, integrity and professionalism are just two of the essential qualities required to build a firm foundation for the nation's future.

“Today in MaGIC's auditorium, I was delighted to see the entire MDEC team reaffirm our commitment to zero tolerance (ZE-TO) to corruption by taking the - the Ikrar Bebas Rasuah - the pledge against corruption,” further commented Datuk Yasmin. "As a champion of Malaysia's digital economy, we at MDEC take pride in our commitment to integrity and professionalism, which are just two of the essential qualities required to build a firm foundation for the nation's future!"

A part of civil service integrity enhancement programme, the Corruption-Free Pledge is a new initiative introduced by the MACC from an initial idea sparked by MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Dzulkifli Ahmad.

In signing and making the pledge, MDEC staff were reminded of four major points – to steer clear of corrupt activities, to always be transparent, to be accountable for all actions and to adhere to the country’s policies and laws. Ultimately, it is to ensure good corporate governance.
